GUM SWAMP & BIRD HIDE
4km South of Forbes, on the North Western side of the Newell Highway

The Lachlan River offers many great spots for picnics, fishing and bush walking. From the Newell highway follow the signs west to Bedgerebong or Condobolin and find your own secluded hideaway as sections of your drive follow the river’s course.
This natural lagoon offers 4.8km of walking and cycle tracks, abundant birdlife, shaded picnic areas, BBQ facilities, a playground, an RV rest area, and toilets conveniently located throughout the parklands.

McFeeters Motor Museum and Visitor Information Centre
McFeeters Motor Museum showcases a stunning private collection of vehicles ranging from 1905 to 1999. Housed in a purpose built complex, the collection consists of veterans, vintage, classic, street rods and custom cars.
As of June 2013, McFeeters Motor Museum has become an accredited Visitor Information Centre. If you are heading into Forbes from the West, be sure to call in and the friendly staff can assist with your enquiries. Also located in the Motor Museum complex is the Superbee Car Cafe, souvenir gift shop and Banderra Estate cellar door which is available for tastings and sales.
Whether your interest is as a car enthusiast, architectural buff or you are just travelling through; McFeeters Motor Museum is definitely worth a visit.
Forbes Heritage Walk – Forbes
Abundant in history, Forbes has long been known for its historic buildings, most of which are still in use today. Many were featured in the film ‘The Dish’. The heritage walk allows you to explore this unique heritage and town.
The Central Business District Walk takes in 18 sites and takes approximately 110 minutes to complete. Please visit the web site for more information.
Forbes Platypus Gallery – Forbes
Located right in themiddle of the Central Business District is the Forbes Platypus Gallery. The Gallery is operated by the Members and Friends of the Forbes Arts Society. On exhibition and for sale are works from artists in the Forbes, Parkes, Orange, Cowra, Peak Hill and surrounding areas. Call in and browse the magnificent works, and you never know; you might just find a special piece that catches your eye.
